1996年我去英格兰转播那届欧洲杯，揭幕战是东道主英格兰对瑞士，我在翻译英格兰队名单的时候，面对与亚当斯一起出任主力中后卫的Southgate的名字，纠结了一会儿：到底该怎么翻译呢？发音最接近的汉字应该是骚士盖。可是普通话读出来可不好听，虽然古有文人骚客之说，现代白话文里，骚，在1996年那个时代，可不文雅。于是我就给他起了现在大家都知道的这个汉语名字：索斯盖特。现在看，他的运气真的是骚，太骚了。以后，请称他为：骚帅！
